Visayas Avenue Redevelopment Ongoing

The Visayas Avenue Sidewalk Redevelopment Project has finally started. A dream project of the Barangay Council which we proposed to Mayor Sonny Belmonte, the project will hopefully revive the commercial activities in the main avenue of Barangay Vasra. With this project we hope to redevelop Visayas Avenue as one of the premier restaurant rows in Quezon City.

The project consists of installing beautiful red and yellow concrete pavers sidewalks and proper parking areas in Visayas Avenue. Aerial streetlights along the sidewalk will also be installed for proper illumination of the whole avenue.

Total length of the project will be from Quezon Memorial Circle up to Congressional Avenue consisting a total area of 31,080 m2. The sidewalk total width will be 7.5 meters from the street gutter thus avoiding the demolition of any private properties/establishments along Visayas Avenue.

One of only three approved avenue redevelopment plans in Quezon City, Visayas Avenue was fortunate to be picked by the Quezon City Government as one of the streets to be fully redeveloped. One of the big infrastructure projects now ongoing in our barangay, the beautification of Visayas Avenue will certainly help Vasra integrate with the massive development of our adjacent areas such as the future Central Business District in the Trinoma area at North Avenue, the UP-Ayala Science and Technology Park at the Philcoa area and the transformation of Quezon Memorial Circle as a world class park.

Due to the ongoing construction, the Barangay Council would like to apologize to the residents and business establishments affected and inconvenienced by the project. For any information or concerns about the project please feel free to ask the barangay. Rest be assured that with the completion of this project, Visayas Avenue will soon be one of the most beautiful avenues in Metro Manila.
